DVR Interfaces
Pacom's range of DVR interfaces adds another dimension to integrated alarm management. Using Pacom's Graphical Management System (GMS), intuitive "video verification" can be accomplished with ease from the convenience of any workstation while an operator is monitoring the system and responding to alarm conditions.
GMS operators typically respond to alarm conditions by "actioning on an event" displayed at the GMS client workstation. When actioning events from a GMS equipped with one of the DVR interfaces, the GMS operator will receive the associated video clip, an interactive site map, a site event log (comprising recent transactions that have occurred at that particular site) and be able to select from a range of operator actions.
Camera icons can be added with ease to the GMS interactive site map to provide operators with a graphical representation of any site. By clicking the icon, live video is streamed from the DVR directly to the operator's desktop and displayed adjacent to the site map and transaction log.
As of GMS v4.06, a separate 'DVR Module' has been introduced. This DVR Module has been designed to be as independent from GMS as possible, allowing the support of new DVR types without having to change anything in GMS. As the result of this separation, new versions of the DVR Module can be released on an 'on demand' basis, without having to wait for the next GMS release, and not having any impact on GMS releases.
