Pacom Introduces Industry's First Affordable Integrated Access Control and Digital Alarm Panel

Pacom Systems, the industry's leader in integrated control panels, introduces the first truly integrated digital panel that combines the capabilities of an alarm panel, an access control panel and a card reader interface into one affordable device. The PX8 provides eight on-board zones, five outputs, supports 256 cardholders, daily opening and closing schedules, and also offers four-door access control capability. It supports wireless and is 100 percent programmable from an LCD keypad and Pacom's Windows-based software making it suitable for commercial and financial applications. 
Pacom's PX8 is first to consolidate three separate security functions into a single control panel. Other companies have managed to combine two of the three functions, but Pacom is first to successfully integrate alarm, access control and a reader interface into a single security solution. The PX8 can support up to 32 wired or wireless zones that can be grouped into four areas. Each area can be independently controlled by the customer and the status displayed on a keypad. PX8 has an on-board modem to communicate alarms to a central station via Contact ID and SIA formats, and can also communicate with the Pacom base station. PX8 supports up to 256 cardholders and four card readers. One of the four card readers can be conveniently connected directly onto the PX8. "The PX8 delivers more power and flexibility than any integrated security panel in its class," said Andrew Minnikin, President of Pacom Systems North America.
